About Raintree

Raintree has always been about exploring the boundaries of hand beaded and embroidered textiles. Being experimental while the use of classic techniques makes for a contemporary design, relevant for tomorrow.

The essence of who we are shows in our portfolio of work. A well balanced synergy between artists and artisans creating a look that captures the distinct aesthetic of Raintree.

Our first step towards sustainability begins with the acknowledgment for the artisans responsible for our work. This transcends into the relationship with our clients.

Transparency and respect are the fundamentals of our company.

Process of design:

  • A brief provided by you with an embroidery direction and target price, we create a design focused on price.
  • OR you have the option of working directly from the extensive archive eliminating development costs and your time.
  • Raintree manufactures garments for evening, resort and ready to wear.
  • Leather manufacturing for accessories- bags and belts.
  • Interiors- furnishings, printed fabric for walls, cushions, bed linen, embroidered wall art
  • Lead time for production is 5 to 7 weeks after the pp sample has been approved.
  • Deliverability can be based on priority orders enabling the completion of production on your end.
  • For high volumes of production as well as computer embroidery/sequin and hand machine embroidery, Raintree has its vendors circled around a close parameter of the design office for close coordination and quality control. The capacity of these specialised workshops can vary between 250-300 technicians and artisans manning the machines.
  • Access to printing- digital, screen and block.
  • Leather manufacturing of accessories- bags and belts.
  • We charge a sampling fee for all developments.
  • At the production stage, we offer price bandings where unit cost comes down as quantity goes up.
  • We work towards a target price given by changing techniques, density of the embroidered design and size of components where necessary.
  • Design fee: If a Raintree design has been chosen from the archive, there is a design fee added if there is no production.

RAINTREE ADVICE: It is much more cost-effective to work on a pattern/placement instead of meterage as we would like to avoid wastage on cost and resources.
